Moschofilero
If you’re looking for a Greek grape variety that promises freshness and liveliness, while offering exotic aromas unusual in the Mediterranean, look no further than Moschofilero (pronounced Mos-kho-FEE-leh-roh).
This pink-skinned grape originates from the Mantinia plateau in the central Peloponnese, where its cool climate gives it floral aromas, lively acidity, and vibrant freshness. Primarily used for dry white wines (“blanc de gris”) and sparkling wines, it is also increasingly being bottled as a varietal rosé. Its expressive floral character makes it an ideal blending grape, adding aromatic flair and liveliness to other wines.
