Savatiano
Savatiano (pronounced Sa-va-TEE-ah-no), one of Greece's most widespread grape varieties, is a historic white grape variety originating in Attica, cultivated for nearly 4,000 years.
Traditionally associated with high yields and the production of retsina, it also produces expressive dry white wines, either as a single variety or blended in many PGI wines. Despite its modest reputation, Savatiano can surprise wine lovers with its distinctive character, elegance, and expression of terroir, demonstrating that quality does not require extravagance, but comes from the true essence of the grape variety.
