Magoutes Vineyard
A word of the master

About this producer
Magoutes Vineyard is a revivalist estate in the high-altitude Siatista region (750–890 meters), founded by Dimitrios Diamantis and George Papageorgiou to preserve and restore the area’s ancient viticultural heritage. The estate’s centennial vines, originally hand-grafted by Dimitrios’ grandfather, include the indigenous Xinomavro and the rare Moschomavro. In the early 1990s, the partners replanted 18 hectares on rocky limestone and clay slopes, focusing on organic, low-intervention farming. The first official bottling—a Xinomavro–Moschomavro blend—was released in 2002. Today, Magoutes produces PGI Siatista wines, aiming to elevate the region to PDO status, potentially making it Greece’s smallest Xinomavro-based appellation.
