Romeiko
A Cretan grape with many faces
Closely associated with Chania in western Crete, Romeiko is a red grape with a surprising range of expressions. Traditionally used for Marouvas, a wine with an oxidative character, it also lends itself to fresher styles, both as a red wine and as a white blanc de noirs.
Its character shifts with the winemaking: red fruit and spice in reds, pear and citrus in white versions. An inviting introduction to the diversity of Cretan wine.
