Thecla Vineyard, located in the Sklavogianni region of Serifos, spans 3 hectares of steep, historic terraces first noted by explorer Ludwig Ross in 1837. Revived in 2016 by self-taught winemaker Christos Papanastasiou, the estate cultivates over eight rare, nearly extinct indigenous grape varieties, many from century-old, own-rooted vines. The vineyard is farmed traditionally — ploughed by horses, harvested by hand, and never touched by tractors — while the dry, windy climate keeps treatments minimal. Production remains intentionally small, with each bottle expressing the authenticity and wild beauty of Serifos.
