About this producer
Wine and olive oil, rooted in Crete
In the hills of Kissamos, in western Crete, potōlo brings together two expressions of the same land: wine and olive oil. Rooted in the village of Tsourouniana, this cooperative project unites people who have chosen to farm in close connection with nature and local traditions.
Co-founder and oenologist Myrsini Archontaki first discovered winemaking alongside her grandfather in Tsourouniana. Today, that story continues through wines made from indigenous Cretan grapes, including Romeiko. Spontaneous fermentation and minimal intervention allow the grapes and their place of origin to express their character.
The same care shapes the work in the olive groves. Growing on stone terraces at around 450 metres above sea level, Koroneiki olive trees are tended using regenerative farming practices that nurture the soil and biodiversity. Harvested early and cold-pressed, their olives produce an extra virgin olive oil with vibrant fruitiness, delicate bitterness and a peppery finish.
With potōlo, Andromachi Selection begins a new chapter, welcoming Greek olive oils into our range. Another way to discover the richness of Greece and bring it to your table.
