Born in the famous vineyards of Nemea and aged in oak, this Agiorgitiko promises a fascinating glimpse of the “blood of Hercules.” Legend has it that the red soil of Nemea was stained by the blood of the Nemean lion, the fearsome beast slain by the mythical hero Hercules during his first labor. This rich heritage gives Nemea wines a powerful and legendary character.

Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand and then rigorously selected on the sorting table. Next, the destemmed grapes are cold soaked at 46-46°F for five days. The wine is fermented in small stainless steel vats at 22-25°C and malolactic fermentation is carried out in new French oak barrels, as is the aging process, which lasts 10 months. After bottling, the wine is left to rest in the bottle for 6 to 8 months before being released for sale.

Food pairing
Serve with charcoal-grilled meats, coq au vin with pasta, or hard, yellow, creamy cheeses.
