One of the winery’s oldest labels and its absolute flagship wine. Made from three selected non-irrigated vineyards over 60 years old. The result is a high-quality, concentrated fruit. One of the most elegant dry expressions of the Mavrodaphne grape variety.
Mavro means black in Greek.

Tasting Notes
Deep, impenetrable purple color. Dense aromas of black cherry and fresh ink complemented by notes of black tea, cinnamon, clove, bay leaf, lavender, and chocolate. The palate is enchanted by its full body, medium acidity, and silky tannins. Black fruits give way to flavors of sage and bitter chocolate. The exuberant character of the wine evolves beautifully with long aging. Decanting is recommended before serving.

Vinification
Rigorous sorting of the grapes, followed by fermentation with indigenous yeasts to allow the variety and terroir to express themselves authentically. Extensive extraction of the must with some whole grapes, avoiding the use of pumps or other mechanical means. Aged for 12 months in 300L French oak barrels. Bottled unfiltered and unfined to preserve its organoleptic richness.

Food pairing
Roasted beef tenderloin with red wine sauce, braised pork with prunes, burger with BBQ sauce, wild boar stew with Bolognese sauce.
