Ethria reveals an unexpected side of Romeiko: this iconic red grape variety from western Crete yields a dry white wine here. The grapes come from the Agrielia vineyard, located at an elevation of 540 meters near Palaia Roumata. A “white from reds” that combines freshness, finesse, and a lovely fruity character.

Tasting Notes
A crisp pear, a few floral notes, followed by citrus that adds a burst of energy. Ethria strikes a beautiful balance between freshness and a smooth texture, with a finish reminiscent of ripe peach. A white wine to enjoy with fish, a selection of cheeses, or a creamy dish.

Vinification
The grapes are pressed, and the juice is immediately separated from the skins to prevent color extraction. Fermentation begins spontaneously. Half of the wine is then aged for three months on fine lees in third-use barrels; the other half remains on fine lees in stainless-steel tanks until bottling.

Food pairing
Fish and seafood, assorted cheeses, and dishes with creamy cheese sauce
