A wine of striking purity, remarkable precision and a radical expression of terroir. ALS 2022 is an extreme Assyrtiko, sourced from some of Santorini’s finest vineyards and crafted by highly experienced, dedicated winemakers.

Vinified in Syros — outside appellation — ALS follows a modern, quality-driven approach where terroir is defined by the vineyard and the wine itself, not by administrative labels. 100% Assyrtiko, 100% Santorini.

The 2022 vintage delivered exceptional conditions, resulting in a wine with intense fruit, precision, finesse and vibrant acidity. Enjoyable now, with excellent ageing potential.

Andromachi’s
Tasting Notes

Complex aromas of ripe yellow orchard fruits, beeswax, juicy pear, chamomile infusion, marine salinity and deep minerality reminiscent of basalt and crushed gravel. The palate is broad and intense, driven by creamy, spiced yellow fruit, notes of green herbal infusion, saline almonds and striking maritime complexity. A wine of great depth, with harmonious balance, vibrant acidity and an exceptionally long finish.

Vinification

A rigorous selection of grape clusters was carried out directly in the vineyard on September 8, 2022. The grapes were then transported from Santorini to Syros in a refrigerated truck to preserve freshness and aromatic integrity. Direct pressing followed, with static settling for 12 hours to obtain a clear, precise juice. Fermentation began at around 17 °C and continued under controlled temperatures (20–21 °C), promoting a pure and balanced expression of fruit and terroir. The wine was aged on fine lees for seven months, with bâtonnage during the first four months, adding texture, complexity and depth. Bottling took place on July 23, 2023.

Food pairing

Oysters, grilled seafood and fish over charcoal, wild herbs or lightly blanched green vegetables, roasted white meats, Comté cheese.
