Vassaltis Vineyards

“Vassaltis” (basalt) is the youngest of the estates in Santorini’s long and rich wine history with the first harvest in 2015.

Owner Yannis Valambous’s passion for wine brought him back to the island of Santorini, where he spent family vacations as a child.

Following the Greek financial crisis of 2010 a plan took root in his mind, a plan that was both a dream and a folly.

Yannis, a former economist in London, sought to revive the family vineyards. He focused on one goal: transforming the family’s vineyards into a truly state-of-the-art winery, creating exquisite world-class wines that showcase the quality of Santorini grapes.
