Assyrtiko is undoubtedly the iconic of Greece’s white grape varieties and produces some of the finest wines in the Mediterranean.

The vines produce medium to large berries with a golden yellow hue. As it matures, Assyrtiko develops rich, concentrated flavours with moderate fruit that is never too sweet, while its characteristic high acidity gives the wines a crisp, elegant profile.

Although indigenous to the island of Santorini, Assyrtiko is grown increasingly on many Aegean islands, in mainland Greece and beyond. It adapts beautifully to a variety of soils and climates. However, only in the maritime, volcanique terroir of Santorini does it show its distinctive dusty, basaltic, salted minerality that gave its wide modern appeal among sommeliers, wine lovers and chefs all over the world.
