Field blend refers to the ancient co-plantation tradition of grapes which were picked and fermented at the same time. These wines differ from the typical blends we know today. Though rare, the field blend tradition lives on in certain wine regions, especially where there is an increasing interest to preserve, save and reproduce old vines and varieties. Thus, expressive, single-vineyard wines are produced to showcase the terroir influence and honour tradition.
