Nopera Wines

Nopera estate is the vision of the local great noble family of metallurgical entrepreneurs, Mytilineos, who originated from the island of Samos. Founded in 2013, the estate respects the ancient wine traditions on the island as well as the environment.

The project revives the family estate “Nopera” which, in the middle of the 19th century, produced and marketed a renowned sweet wine of superb quality made from the Samos Muscat variety supplied to the largest Vermouth producer in Marseille (Noilly Prat).

Today we find at its head a descendant of the same family, Nikolas Mytilineos. Nopera is the first post-monopoly estate in Samos and the only one to have certified organic vineyards slowly converting to biodynamic cultivation. The winemakers work in the minimal intervention style on non-irrigated old goblet vines.
