Roditis derives either from the island of Rhodes or from the berries colour, meaning the one that is pink.

Roditis is the most widely cultivated and one of the oldest indigenous varieties of Greece.

For years, it served as the basis for hundreds of “simple” and everyday white wines, which is why it has the reputation of a “modest” grape variety.

In fact, it is neither “white”, since the skin colour of its grapes is reddish, nor “modest” since, under certain conditions, it can give remarkable and particular wines.
