Novus Winery

Novus Winery is a new and ambitious project founded by Leonidas Nassiakos, a third-generation winemaker with deep roots in the Mantinia appellation. With 29 years of experience in the wine industry, he combines tradition with modern expertise. He studied Chemistry at the University of Patras, Greece, and specialized in Oenology, bringing both scientific knowledge and hands-on craftsmanship to his winemaking.

The Nassiakos family’s winemaking journey began in the early 1950s when Leonidas’ grandfather started producing wine in Mantinia. His father later took over the business after returning from a decade in Canada, where Leonidas was born. In the mid-1990s, after completing his studies, he joined the family winery, focusing on Moschofilero. To broaden his expertise in red wines, he worked for six years at the Nemea Appellation Cooperative Winery, overseeing Agiorgitiko production while still managing the Nassiakos family winery. In 2002, he became Production-Winery Manager at Semeli in Nemea and later played a key role in merging Semeli and Nassiakos in 2008. He remained General Manager of Semeli until the end of 2020, when he decided to fulfill his dream of creating his own winery in Mantinia.

Novus Winery, with its first production year in 2022, embodies the experience and passion of three generations. The winery is dedicated to highlighting and promoting indigenous Greek grape varieties through single-varietal wines and unique blends. Sustainability is a core principle, with estate-owned vineyards being developed gradually while maintaining strong, long-term partnerships with local vine growers.
